UN refugee agency: Record 65.6 million people displaced worldwide


Destroying clashes, savagery and mistreatment in places like Syria and South Sudan left a record 65.6 million individuals uprooted from their homes before the end of 2016, the UN said today.

“At the end of 2016, there were 65.6 million individuals coercively displaced around the world,” the UN refugee office said in an announcement, focusing on this was “another unprecedented high.”
