Sri Lankan skipper and captain, Dinesh Chandimal has been suspended from the two matches to put four overs slow in the match against Bangladesh. He will have to stay out of the last two round robin matches of the current Drona Trophy.
Match referee Chris Broad has suspended Chandimal from two matches and the players of the team will also be fined 60 percent of the match fee. In the round-robin match held on Saturday, the Sri Lankan team was four overs behind time against Bangladesh.
All-rounder Thisara Perera will lead the team in place of Sri Lankan captain Chandimal in both the remaining matches. Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah has been fined 20 per cent of the match fees and 10 per cent of the match fee on the rest of the team. The penalty has been imposed on the Bangladeshi team to put an over slow speed.
According to the rules of the International Cricket Council (ICC), if a team is considered to be accused of slowing more than two over, then the captain of that team is suspended in either one test or two ODIs or two Twenty20 matches.Rajasthan Tourism App - Welcomes to the land of Sun, Sand and adventures
