Ankara: Two suicide aircraft exploded their explosives amid a police operation in the Turkish capital Ankara today after officers approached the suspects to surrender, state media reported.
They set off the auto bomb they had arranged, the authority Anadolu news organization said, including that the two suspects were dead. There were no prompt reports of whatever other losses in the impact, which happened Saturday morning in the edges of the city.
Ankara senator Ercan Topaca told columnists at the scene it was “likely” that they had associations with the prohibited Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). “The materials utilized, the development and the way it was arranged indicate the PKK a bit,” he said, cited by Anadolu. The PKK has been pursuing a 32-year insurrection against the state in the nation’s southeast.
