Twitter posts pics of three generations doing yoga after PM Modi’s request


With International Yoga Day celebrations on in full swing, Twitter is buzzing with posts and pictures of individuals participating in events and practising yoga across various parts of the world. Among these photos, some that stand out show families performing yoga together. Amid his last ‘Mann ki Baat’ on May 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoke to individuals to share photographs demonstrating three generations of a family performing yoga together. “Grandparents, guardians and youngsters should together perform yoga and furthermore upload their photographs. It will be such a wonderful blend of yesterday, today and tomorrow – lending a new dimension to yoga,” PM Modi said in his radio address. “These photos will be a guarantee of a brighter tomorrow.”

This year marks the third International Yoga Day. It was on December 11, 2014 that the United Nations pronounced June 21 as International Yoga Day.
