Turkey looks for arrest of soccer striker Hakan Sukur, seizes resources


ANKARA :  Turkey has issued a capture warrant for one of its most praised soccer players, previous worldwide striker Hakan Sukur, requesting the seizure of his advantages as a feature of an examination concerning a month ago's fizzled upset, state media said.

Prosecutors blame Sukur for "being an individual from an equipped dread gathering", a reference to the association of the U.S.- based Muslim minister Fethullah Gulen whom Ankara says was behind the unsuccessful putsch. Gulen denies the allegation.

The player's dad, Sermet Sukur, was confined on Friday in the northwestern region of Sakarya, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. A court on Thursday had requested his capture, and in addition that of Sukur.

A court decided on Friday that all ledgers, vehicles and different resources having a place with Sukur, the national group's unequaled top scorer, and his dad be seized, Anadolu said.

Hakan Sukur, lives in the United States and is among nearly 350 individuals being looked for by the Turkish powers. He confronted a different court case in June blamed for offending Erdogan. The case has yet to be finished up.

The footballer denied having fled to the United States in the affront case, saying he moved there, as opposed to fleeing. He has not made any remark in connection to the capture warrant.

Turkey blames U.S.- based priest Gulen of coordinating the upset endeavor.
