Delhi is likely to witness two-day bandh beginning from today as traders are striking against the currently sealing drive in the capital. It is probable that nearly 8 lakh shops and a several factories would remain shut today.
The shut for two-day bandh has been issued by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). On the other hand, Chamber of Trade and Industries (CTI) had demanded for a three-day bandh in the capital. The industry has also taken decision to carry out a protest and ‘katora march’ outside Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) organization at Kashmiri Gate.
CAIT has taken decision to carry out protest rally in major markets in Delhi. They are likely to conduct a strike at Bikanerwala crossing in Karol Bagh area on Friday afternoon.
In Delhi, ‘chakka jam’ is also likely to be held at Paharganj close to New Delhi Railway Station.
CAIT and CTI have announced that the strike would finish only after the government executes the declarations made by Minister of State for Housing & Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri on Wednesday.
“We are hopeful that no sealing in Special Areas and Village Abadi areas of Delhi will take place,” Maken stated.
