New Delhi. India finished its campaign on Second position by winning two gold medals at the Indira Gandhi Stadium’s Cycling Velodrome in the Track Asia Cup on the final day. India held second position after Hong Kong with a total of 16 medals. India won five gold, four silver and seven bronze medals, while Hong Kong has won 11 gold, four silver and three bronze medals to make the total score 18.
After India winning two gold, two silver and four bronze medals the Indian coach R. K. Sharma said "I am satisfied with the performance of cyclists in Track Asia Cup, junior cyclists in particular have done very well in this prestigious competition and they have lived up to expectations. "
Deborah Heroldo finished his final sprint competition with a time of 12.576. He however missed the gold medal in his favorite event, Keirin and had to settle for the silver medal. The bronze medal in the event, was taken away ny his fellow Kejia Varghese. Amarjit Singh, the Indian Cyclist stood eighth in Men's Elite Keirin Event, but Emerson won the bronze medal in the junior class.
In the final sprint Sanuraj P of India won bronze medal in the men's junior. In Women Junior Sprint final both first and second place were taken away by India. Naina Rajesh won the gold while Anu came second.
