Three arrested for attempted attack on Sheila Dikshit’s daughter


NEW DELHI: Three persons have been detained by Delhi Police as they were trying to attack on Latika Dikshit, daughter of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in her residence on Thursday.

The police said, the accused were trying to attack Latika in groups of two and barged in her residence at Upasna Apartments on Hailey road while others were waiting outside.

An FIR was lodged by Shashikant Sharma, a member of Delhi Youth Congress and grandson of former Saket MLA, Tek Chand Sharma on Tuesday at Barakhamba Road police station.

The incident was held on November 17 at around 11.30 pm when Shashikant along with his friend and Congress worker Manish Chaudhary were going from Latika’s residence on Thursday.

When Sharma and Chaudhary came to know about the incident, they moved back their car and informed the police.

Nearly Four unidentified persons of the group came in an Etios car and they escaped when police reached at Latika’s residence. Three persons have been arrested.

The police revealed that, a car and two bikes were recovered from the residence.

“We rushed to her flat with police constables. But they had escaped,” he added.

Delhi Police had detained Imran from Bengaluru on November 14.
