THANE: On Thursday night a 22-year-old constable, guarding the armoury situated contradictory thane police station, supposedly tried to commit suicide by shooting himself with his self-loading rifle, critically wounding himself. Preliminary information suggested that it was a misfortune, but throughout initial inquiry, police establish a suicide note in Constable Sagar Malunkar’s trouser pocket.
Police officer has also further conveyed that, in the note, Malunkar mentioned a girl and hunted her forgiveness and also conveyed that no one should be held accountable for his action. Police are yet to proof his statement based on which further action will be taken.
Thane Nagar senior police inspector Mandar Dharmadhikari has also further conveyed that, around 11.45pm, Malunkar, who is of the 2014 batch, supposedly shot himself with the SLR on his right shoulder. Hearing the shot, his associates hurried to him to Thane Civil Hospital.
He was afterward shifted to a private hospital. Police officer has conveyed that, his condition is now stable. The police officer conveyed adding that Malunkar would converse for hours with someone, presumably a woman, on the phone.
