The injured had been taken to Gaya.

The battle started in the afternoon and ended in the evening. A probe is in process under the supervision of CRPF's inspector general and deputy inspector general.

Officials said, “The casualties may rise as some of the jawans of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) were critically injured in a fierce gun battle, which was still raging.”

“The mobile phone connectivity is very bad in the area hence much information is not trickling out”, officials added.

The jawans who had been injured were associated with 205th COBRA battalion and they were in the town for performing anti-naxal operations.
