Telugu actor JV Ramana Murthy died on Wednesday. He was 83 years old and was undergoing treatment for heart ailment in corporate hospital in Hyderabad.
The actor did 150 films including Maro Charitra, Gorintaku, Aakali Rajyam, Batasaari, Saptapadi, Shubalekha, Sirivennela and Ananda Bhairavi. He is best remembered for playing Girisam in the cult play, Kanyasulkam.
According to reports, his brother, JV Somayajulu said, Murthy started acting in plays when he was a child. He made his Telugu cinema debut in 1957 with the film, MLA.
Some of his notable dramas include NGO, Kappalu, Keerthi Seshulu and Evaru Donga, among others. He was given a special appreciation for portraying the role of Gireesham in Gurazada’s drama, Kanyasulkam.
JV Ramana Murthy made his debut in movies at the age of 24 with K. B. Tilak’s M.L.A.
His filmography includes Batasaari, Aakali Rajyam, Maro Charitra, Saptapadi, Gorintaku, Kartavyam and Ananda Bhairav and many more.
