Hyderabad: The central government has given Telangana as much as Rs 1,824 crore towards employment generation programmes in rural areas of the state last year. Disclosing this here on Saturday, Union minister of state for labour Bandaru Dattatreya urged the Telangana government to use the funds for creation of productive assets in the state.
The minister was speaking to reporters after his return from the G-20 labour ministers' meeting in China from July 11 to 13. Dattatreya said that Hyderabad will be hosting a meeting of officials from BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) nations on July 27 and 28. This will be followed by a BRICS ministerial-level meeting on labour in September.
