Mumbai: Akshita, the daughter of popular Tamil actor Vikram (Shankar’s I and Mani Ratnam’s Ravana) got engaged to her long-time beau, Manu Ranjith on Sunday in Chennai.
Manu is the son of entrepreneur Ranganathan of Cavin Kare, and the grandson of DMK supremo M Karunanidhi. The engagement was a low-key affair with only family and close friends in attendance. "It was a very private ceremony. The couple had known each other for a long time and got engaged with the consent of their parents. The wedding is scheduled to take place next year," a source told a news agency.
Vikram is one of Tamil cinema’s most bankable stars. He was last seen in Iru Murugan but became popular nationally when he starred as a hunchback character in Shankar’s fantasy film, I, in 2015. Vikram is married to Shailaja Balakrishnan and has a son, Dhruv, other than Akshita.
