Tamil on-screen character and director Srinivasan, who allegedly made films from the money gained out of cheating people was arrested in Chennai. “Srinivasan was arrested in Chennai and a transit request was obtained from a local court to take him back to Delhi,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Economic Offenses Wing) Arun Kampani told to a news agency. Srinivasan was allegedly arrested based on a complaint filed by a Delhi-based specialist in 2013. “In December 2010, Srinivasan took an upfront payment of Rs five crore for buy of special adhesive stamp from the complainant promising him a loan of Rs 1,000 crore. However, the denounced neither arranged the loan nor returned Rs 5 crore,” A news agency cited a cop as saying.
After the investigation, Srinivasan was arrested in June 2013. Media revealed that he had been held up in Tihar imprison for around two months before he came out on bail after giving an undertaking to settle the pending dues within a stipulated time. However, he failed to do so.
“The blamed is involved in eight cases of cheating and criminal intimidation registered against him and being researched in Delhi and Central Crime Branch in Chennai,” revealed Mr Kampani to a news agency. Srinivasan, who is an acupuncture doctor by profession, has acted in around 12 movies and showed up in few.
He was allegedly arrested from his home in Chennai’s Anna Nagar on Tuesday morning and he was produced before the chief metropolitan magistrate court to obtain a transit warrant, to take him to Delhi. Media detailed that Srinivasan is needed by the Bengaluru police as he has allegedly cheated a businessman.
