COIMBATORE : On Thursday, AIADMK (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma) MLA V C Arukutty hit out at T T V Dhinakaran stating that his hopes of becoming a chief minister would be broken .
Arukutty, speaking to Kavundampalayam constituency in Coimbatore, said Dhinakaran despises any support from the party MLAs. “Those MLAs who are meeting Dhinakaran after his discharge from jail are doing as such for cordiality purpose. The gatherings can’t be interpreted as augmentation of their support to Dhinakaran,” Arukutty, a staunch OPS supporter, said.
Arukutty asserted that the MLAs who met Dhinakaran had themselves described that the meetings were not a show of support.
He reiterated that the present government couldn’t be toppled. “There is zero chance of the legislature toppling. Resistance gatherings are pointlessly creating stories,” he said. “As far as our faction is concerned, O Panneerselvam has clarified that we would protect Amma’s government and would not topple it,” he said. He said the merger of two factions of AIADMK would gather pace after the assembly session. Tnn
