The Supreme Court will on Tuesday hear a plea for exchanging Mohammad Shahabuddin from Siwan region prison to Tihar Central Jail and his trial in Delhi, the top court said on Monday.
The Supreme Court will likewise hear a plea for the giving over the cases of the RJD strongman to the Central Bureau of Investigaion.
The seat of Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Amitava Roy said this while senior counsel Shekhar Naphade showing up for Shahabuddin opposed the request.
Counsel contended that it would adversely affect the visitation rights of Shahabuddin's relatives.
The seat said: "This is the situation which is the test case of our criminal in context of witnesses protection and the concept of fair trial."
