Supreme Court to announce next hearing of Asaram Rape Case on Nov 28

New Delhi: The self-styled religious guru or the self proclaimed ‘Godman’ Asaram Bapu was declined relief by the Supreme Court in connection with two rape cases registered against him, on Monday in a major setback. The matter will be next heard on November 28 by the apex court bench headed by Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose. Asaram had earlier knocked the doors of the apex court seeking bail on health grounds.

The apex court division bench was already told that the rape case registered against Asaram would very likely to proceed in an expeditious manner, adding to the statement that the trial would be completed within six months so the bail should not be granted to him in the case by the Gujarat Government.

The response of the Centre and five states on a plea seeking a CBI probe into the alleged murder of children through black magic and attacks on ten witnesses in Asaram Bapu rape cases was already sought by the Supreme Court earlier this month.
