A bench headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi discarded the plea by the Karnataka Iron and Steel Manufacturers Association seeking that iron ore prices be determined by the apex court-appointed monitoring group.

Under the dual pricing, NMDC sells iron ore at diverse prices in dissimilar states. Though allowing the dual pricing policy, the court refused the plea by Vedanta to export the iron ore that it cannot sell in Goa and Karnataka.
