Student Expelled From AMU Due To Objectionable Post On URI Attacks


On Monday, a Kashmiri student was expelled from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for posting objectionable comments on the social media site Facebook about the terror attacks on the army in URI.

The Vice Chancellor Of AMU Lt. General Zameer Uddin Shah took a very serious view of the issue and expelled the student named Mudassar Yusuf from Srinagar, persuading his in Organic chemistry, after personally probing the matter.

According to the sources,the student has offered his apologies to the Vice Chancellor on Sunday for posting the objectionable comments by stating that he was carried away by the sentiments.

The University spokesman Rahat Abrar said,” Lt Gen Shah said that there is no scope whatsoever at AMU for tolerating any incident which smacks of anti-national sentiments”.

Sources said that the university authorities however has decided to go ahead with his expulsion keeping in mind the sensitivity of the matter.

BJP Lok Sabha Member from Aligarh, Satish Kumar Gautam had also written to the Vice Chancellor demanding stringent action against the student for his Facebook post.
