The government who made Aadhaar card compulsory to fill income tax return (ITR), has now come up with new decision that smartphones not connected with Aadhaar card will be turn off following February next year.
As per the reports, BJP government is on the move to connect Aadhaar with SIM card. All the smartphone customers must have to connect their Aadhaar numbers with SIM numbers.
The decision has been taken by government according to Supreme Court orders. It announced in February 2017 that SIM cards must have been linked with Aadhaar card. It declared that cellphones that will not be linked with Aadhar is likely to be deactivated after February next year.
Airtel asserted, “All you need is your Aadhaar card/number and your Mobile. You will be required to complete biometric verification. You will also receive the verification code (OTP) on your Mobile that would be required to complete the process.”
Steps to link Aadhar and SIM :
1. Go to Idea store. Give your mobile number and Aadhaar number.
2. The supervisory will sent four-digit verification code on mobile number for the verification.
3. The user will then give the verification code to the supervisory and give his or her biometrics.
4. The customer will get confirmation SMS after 24 hours, respond ‘Y’ to finish the EKYC process.
