There is no doubt that Shah Rukh Khan is a man of wit and charm! The performer through his speech that he delivered at the TED talk in Vancouver in April won hearts of numerous as the venue loaded with laughter and applause post the on-screen character finished his speech.
Also, now, the performing artist has accepted Oxford University’s invite to convey a speech. Affirming the same to a leading newspaper, Shah Rukh stated, “I love to talk. Whenever someone invites me to deliver a speech, I always consider it an opportunity. I have been to Yale before (in 2012) and now, I have gotten an invitation from Oxford. I’ll go if I have the time and If it fits into my scheme of things.”
The performer most likely has a busy schedule ahead as he starts promotions for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and is additionally simultaneously shooting for Aanand L Rai’s untitled next. However, the performing artist insists that he will write his speech on his own. Shah Rukh included, “I don’t like anyone writing for me. It requires time for me to sit down and write, given my schedule, but it must be done by me. I am yet to zero in on a subject for this talk.”
Alan Rusbridger, the Principal of Oxford University extended an invitation to Shah Rukh in November a year ago when he took to Twitter and tweeted:
Discussing his experience of delivering speeches at such eminent talks, Shah Rukh finished up, “I have always enjoyed TED Talks and have grown up watching them. So, if I am invited for it, it’s a big honour. I get to learn a lot of things from the people who come to listen to me. It’s a fulfilling experience to stand among individuals who have achieved so much and exchange ideas with them. Else, we are simply in a cocoon and continue talking about, ‘Bhai, India mein business kitna hua?’.”
