Indian Badminton Champion Kidambi Srikanth clinched his third Super Series Premier title after defeating Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Ki Vincent in straight games in men’s singles final of Denmark Open tournament that was held on Saturday at Odense Sports Park.
In the starting of game, the duo contributed a lot to score the match points but later Srikanth dominated him during the 39-minute semifinal.
“I feel great. I really wanted to do well. Our game is similar but I was more patient and though I made some errors initially I learnt quickly. Next is Lee whom I have not played and I think he will be a tricky player to beat,” Srikanth stated.
Kidambi Srikanth and Wong Wing Ki Vincent scored six points ahead of the Indian took a lead of 11—6.
Wong scored 10—13 score following the interval but later Srikanth presented outstanding performance and took a lead of 15—10.
Kidambi Srikanth took a lead of 4—0 in the second game, however, some faults at the net assisted Wong Wing to score 3—4. Later, Srikanth clinched 7—5 points against the opponent player.
Srikanth displayed terrific energy when he scored to 8 points over Wong Wing. But, Wong Wing tried to exceed Srinkanth and take a lead 11—9 during the break.
Indian Champ took three straight points following the lemon break. The points helped him to take a lead of 14—12 and won the game against Wong Wing.
