Speeding truck rams into SUV, 5 killed


Shahjahanpur: A hard-hitting collision occurred between the truck and a SUV near Dharampur village on Tuesday. Five of a family died in the mishap.

The departed residents of Nagra Dohak village in Pasgawa, were travelling to Muda Nizaam village in Mohammdi to meet their relative, as suddenly their vehicle (SUV) hit by a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction. In the mishap only an 18-year-old boy Tillu Kumar survived.

The truck driver ran away from the spot. Locals hurried to the spot and informed police about the occurrence. The deceased were recognized as Vijaylaxmi, 40, Vipin Kumar, 27, Sonu, 40, Dinesh, 30, and four-year-old girl Shivani.

And after post-mortem the bodies were handed over to relatives. Police seized the truck and an FIR has been filed against the truck driver for rash driving under relevant sections of the IPC.

Station officer (SO) of Mohammdi police station, D K Singh has also conveyed that the mishap was reported on late Tuesday night when the fatalities were travelling to meet their relative in Mohammdi. There were six passengers in the SUV and five of them were declared bought dead by doctors.
