Socialite And Philanthropist, Parmeshwar Godrej Passes Away Last Night


Parmeshwar Godrej, giver, socialite and spouse of Adi Godrej, the chairman of Mumbai-based Godrej Group passed away last night at the Breach Candy in Mumbai. Parmeshwar, 70, was experiencing a degenerative lung ailment since recent years and she was determined to have a lung infection a couple days back which apparently caused her death.  As indicated by the reports, Parmeshwar was incinerate on Monday night.

A recipient of many awards for her outstanding work in the field of health and illness, Godrej was listed in India Today’s 10 Most Powerful People for ten years in a row. She was a woman of many talents – interior decorator, earliest champion of AIDS and HIV awareness in India. She was consulted by Harvard School of Public Health for the work.

Parmeshwar was noted for her work to spread awareness about AIDS; she propelled the Heroes Project alongside Hollywood performing artist Richard Gere to assemble social leaders and the media industry to fight HIV-AIDS in India, according to the reports  which also supported the project.

Parmeshwar, 70, is survived by spouse Adi Godrej and three youngsters Nisa Godrej, Pirojsha Adi Godrej and Tanya Dubash and  four grandchildren — Aryan and Azaar Dubash, sons of elder daughter Tanya; Sasha, daughter of son Pirojsha and youngest grandson, son of Nisa.

Unsurprisingly , Twitter is paying tributes to the firm lady that Godrej was.
