Romania’s Simona Halep beat Madison Keys by 6-4 6-2 in the match that took place on Thursday at the Wuhan Open in China. Simona has reached to the WTA Finals by defeating her opponent player in the match.
In the semi finals, Halep scored 6-3 6-4 against Britain’s Johanna Konta and won the match while Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova meets Slovak Dominika Cibulkova in the semis.
Kuznetsova faced a match point to defeat world number four Agnieszka Radwanska 1-6 7-6(9) 6-4 in a thriller and Cibulkova edged Czech Barbora Strycova 6 3 6-4 in another tight duel.
Fourth seed Halep twice fought once again from an early break before discovering her mood, helped by Keys' 24 unforced blunders, to wrap up the match in a little more than 60 minutes.
Halep joins Germany's reality number one Angelique Kerber, who was thumped out by Kvitova in the last 16 in China, and Serena Williams at the WTA Finals in Singapore.
