On Thursday morning on NICE Road, a 28-year-old man and his 35-year-old sister, who were coming back from a relative’s 11th day death ceremony, died when their car hit a median near Simapura. The family lives in Banshankari. They had gone to Kalaburagi for the ceremony.
On Wednesday approximately 4.30 p.m. they left for Bengaluru and had arrived at NICE Road around 6.30 a.m. A police officer has also further conveyed that, we suspect that Shivakumar, who had been driving incessantly for over 14 hours, fell asleep at the wheel.
According to the police, Shivakumar owns a mobile phone shop. He was driving whereas his sister Bhagirathi (35) was sitting next to him. Their father Ramchandra (75), mother Basamma (60) and Bhagirathi’s children, aged 10 and 12, continued severe injuries and were admitted to R.R. Nagar hospital.
Shivakumar and Bhagirathi sustained head grievance and died on their way to the hospital. Ramchandra is conveyed to be battling for his life. Basamma and children are said to be out of danger.
