Markets were solid on Friday as the Sensex increased by 170 points and the Nifty settled at 9,800 marks.
On 30-share index, Sensex noted at 122.67 points in the earlier sessions but today it was recorded gains 170.29 points or 0.54 per cent at 31,452.77. The shares of realty, metal, oil and gas increased to 2.71 per cent.
On the other hand, NSE Nifty increased by 58.40 points or 0.59 per cent at 9,827.35.
In the mean time, the rupee gained 20 paise to 65.30 over the dollar in prior session on Friday.
On Friday, Domestic institutional shareholders purchased shares worth a net Rs. 5,196.60 crore. They were noticed forming new positions after the starting of the October futures and options (F&O) series that raised the key indexes.
There were new reports on Wall Street as global shareholders applauded US president Donald Trump’s tax reforms plan.
The top achievers involved Bajaj Auto, Asian Paints, Maruti, SBI and ICICI Bank.
