Sensex gains 200 points; Nifty close to 10K


In early trade on BSE, Sensex gained 187 points while Nifty rise by 10,000-mark 66 points on National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Nifty achieved 65.75 points or 0.66 per cent at 10,000.55 on the broader NSE indices in the early trade on Monday.

The 30-share indices too increased by 186.61 points or 0.59 per cent at 31,874.13.

In the prior two sessions in cautious business, the gauge had received 25.55 points.

Oil & gas, capital goods, realty, PSU and healthcare received top Sensex with rise of up to 1.06 per cent.

The top achievers were L&T, Dr Reddy’s,  HDFC Bank, M&M, Reliance Industries, Coal India, HDFC Ltd,  Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Hind Unilever, Sun Pharma, Maruti Suzuki, increasing by up to 1.34 per cent.

Auto shares increased by 1 per cent following lower than expected climb in cess on mid-sized and large cars.

Among other Asian markets, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.91 for every penny, while Japan’s Nikkei rose 1.38 for each penny in early exchange today. Shanghai Composite Index too increased 0.31 for each penny.

The US Dow Jones Industrial Average finished 0.06 for each penny higher in Friday’s exchange.
