Senior IAS officer, 4 others wounded in Agra-Lucknow Expressway car accident


Senior IAS officer, Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary (Information) Navneet Sahgal and four others got wounded in a car accident that took place near Unnao on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

The incident occurred when Mr. Sahgal was coming back after an air show conducted by the Indian Air Force in Bangarmau.

The reports revealed that Mr. Sahgal’s car rammed with a private car between Atiya and Inayatpur villages on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

An IAS officer has undergone head injuries and later he was taken to the Trauma Centre at KGMU along with his driver, gunner and two others.

Few hours before the accident, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had cautioned against driving at high speed on the state-of-the-art road.

“I request you to drive on the expressway with caution and not exceed a speed limit of 100 kmph,” he said.

The new six lane expressway will be inaugurated by CM on November 21.
