BlackBerry Ltd. found a client for its armada GPS beacon, venturing out the swarmed market for observing payload trucks and prepares.
The Waterloo, Ontario-based organization will introduce 500 units of the BlackBerry Radar on trailers claimed by Oakville, Ontario-based trucker Caravan Group. The Radar is a crate that sticks on the back of a tractor-trailer compartment and regularly overhauls its proprietor on the trailer's temperature, area and whether the entryway is open or shut. A representative for BlackBerry declined to say what the arrangement was worth.
The Radar is a piece of Chief Executive Officer John Chen's crusade to discover approaches to take the organization's current licenses and skill and apply them to new ventures. Still, the business sector is swarmed with settled organizations like Orbcomm and Fleetmatics Group. Telecom goliath Verizon Communications consented to purchase Fleetmatics a month ago for $2.4 billion.
