SC to announce plea on investigation into `bribes’ to netas by honchos


NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court announced on Tuesday that it will hear a plea of NGO ‘Common Cause’ soon. A special investigation team has been formed to investigate alleged funds of huge amounts by big business houses to politicians that were given as bribes to get their work done.

Chief Justice TS Thakur, senior advocate Shanti Bhushan affirmed on Tuesday that all the documents of the Netas have been seized from their corporate houses. The plea will be heard by the Supreme Court on November 25.  

The NGO's application reported, "The applicant seeks the SC's intervention in an extremely serious matter where actionable evidence gathered in I-T raids on two companies concerning corruption and bribing of important public functionaries was given a quiet burial by the I-T and CBI."

Few pages have been found that showcased cash transactions of Netas from May 2013 to March 2014."The documents are printouts of Excel sheets showing receipt of over Rs 115 crore and outflow of Rs 113 crore… . The logs suggest cash was apparently transferred to important public figures," they claimed
