Salman Khan’s Sultan crosses Rs 500 crore worldwide


Mumbai: Bollywood’s ‘Dabangg’ Khan, Salman has once again proved that no controversy can ever stop his film from conquering box office. After joining Rs. 100 crore club in just 3 days, Salman and Anushka starrer ‘Sultan’ has successfully earned Rs. 500 crore at the international box office.

This movie has beaten the record of Amir Khan's PK. Commenting on the movie, Aamir Khan said that, "Everything is there… what we expect from a mainstream film. I laughed, I cried and enjoyed a lot. It's an Eid gift from Salman. If there is one film which can break the record of 'PK', it is 'Sultan'." The Yash Raj Films production earned Rs 36.54 crore on its opening day, itself.

With this, ‘Sultan’ becomes the fifth highest grossing Bollywood film after ‘Dhoom 3 (Rs 542 crore), Baahubali (Rs 600 crore), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 626 crore) and PK Rs 792 crore). If it keeps going strong at the box office, it might be able to break ‘Dhoom 3’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Baahubali’s record.

After receiving a fantastic opening on its first day, Salman’s ‘Sultan’ has so far earned Rs. 267.31 crore at the Indian box office. Riding high on positive feedback and word of mouth, Salman and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Sultan’ continues to do a good  business on the silver screen.
