Salman Khan acquitted in blackbuck, chinkara poaching cases

JODHPUR:  The Rajasthan High Court has acquitted Actor Salman Khan on Monday for Jodhpur blackbuck and chinkara poaching case.

A case was filed against Salman Khan for two separate cases in 1998. He was accused of killing a blackbuck and a chinkara.

Salman was charged under section 51 of Wildlife Protection Act for poaching of two chinkaras in village Bhawad on 26-27 September, 1998 and one chinkara in Mathania (Ghoda Farm) on 28-29 September, 1998.

In both the cases, the trial court (CJM) had convicted him sentencing to one year and 5 year imprisonment on February 17, 2006 and April 10, 2006 respectively.
