Sacrifice of cows on Eid, 12 arrested in Alwar


Alwar: The Alwar police on Thursday exhumed 36 carcasses of cows which were allegedly sacrificed on Eid at Nogawa in Alwar district. 12 people were arrested in this connection and raids were on at several places, though situation remained tense as the information spread in the area.

Acting on a tip-off, the police along with SDM Ramgarh went to site and dug out the cadavers. A team of veterinary doctors were called for conducting post mortem. To avoid any infection in the area, police later buried the remains of cows.

Besides, six alive cows were also saved from the spot. According to police officials, more than a dozen of villages fall in the Mewat region and is adjoining to Haryana border. "It looks like that cows were sacrificed and later meat was distributed here. 

Later, carcasses were dumped and being a secluded area, nobody received a hint of it," said police officials. amgarh MLA Gyandev Ahuja and along with members of cow vigilante groups reached the spot and protested against the cow slaughter.
