Sachin Tendulkar to be face of Kerala anti drug campaign


Kerala : Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar will now be part of Kerala government's awareness campaign against alcohol and drugs. The details of the same will be worked out, after the CM holds parleys with the cricketer’s managers, he said. Tendulkar formally agreed to be the face of the campaign to fight these social evils, while also announcing the opening of the Academy, which will have a comprehensive programme to ’create 100 footballers of international standards in the next five years from the State’, reported in an newspaper.

Tendulkar is also IOC's goodwill ambassador for the Rio Olympics, which will be held from 5 to 21 August. The government has also roped in Tendulkar, who is a member of the Rajya Sabha, to endorse the 'I Support Skill India' campaign. Sachin Tendulkar offers to help drought-hit Maharashtra village
"When I was approached for endorsing Skill India, I realized that it is an important component in one's personal growth that needs to be valued and mastered. We are a young nation and we have the potential in us. We just need to learn a skill that is driven by our passion and turn it into an opportunity for us. Skill India is a big opportunity extended to all. We should avail of it to its best," the all-time great had said while speaking on his association with the government scheme.

The campaign of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is an endeavour to galvanize stakeholders across states, organizations and industries to bring value and respect to skills and standardize the ecosystem to meet human resource requirements nationally and globally.
