Rupee down 2 paise to 66.98 against Dollar in early trade


Mumbai: Today the Indian Rupee depreciated by 2 paise to 66.98 against the US Dollar in early buy and sell at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on fresh demand for the American currency from importers.

Forex dealers has also further conveyed that, the potency in dollar next to some currencies abroad and depreciates in domestic equities in the commencing buy and sell also weighed on the rupee.

Yesterday the rupee had developed approximately flat at 66.96 alongside the American currency in an extremely volatile trade, ahead of a crucial US Fed meeting. Today the benchmark BSE Sensex down by 50.70 points, or 0.17 per cent, to 28,583.80 in early trade.
