The BCCI declared the team members for India ‘Red’ and India ‘Blue’ for Prof D B Deodhar Trophy 2017 on Tuesday.
In the triangular series, both the team will play against Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017 winners, Tamil Nadu. The matches will be organized in Vizag between March 25 and 29.
The latest reports revealed that Rohit Sharma and Parthiv Patel have been chosen to lead the Blue and Red side respectively. The team consists of top players from the recently held Vijay Hazare Trophy including Govinda Poddar, Krunal Pandya, Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur, Pankaj Rao.
Players Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Mayank Agarwal, Dhawal Kulkarni have also been chosen in the limited-over match.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who head Jharkhand to the semifinals of Vijay Hazare Trophy and showcased some extraordinary presentations with the bat was a shocking elimination from the two teams named by the selectors. The Champion made 330 runs in seven innings at an average of 66 and a strike rate of 98.8.
On the other hand, Manoj Tiwary has been chosen in the other side for showing outstanding performances. The list of other players include like Harbhajan Singh, Ashok Dinda and Ambati Rayudu.
The match offers a good platform for national and fringe players including Rohit, Manish Pandey, Dhawan, Axar, Jadhav and Gurkeerat Singh with India not waiting for to play any competitive 50-over matches before the ICC Champions Trophy.
