Robbery in Mum-Jaipur superfast train


Two armed robbers burst into Mumbai-Jaipur superfast on Wednesday morning, when the train began moving from Sawai Madhopur railway station, and evacuated with about Rs 22,000 money and jewellery from four ladies travelers in the women compartment.

The travelers were brave enough to pull the chain after which the looters fled.

As per government railroad police (GRP), Sawai Madhopur, four ladies travelers after reaching Jaipur gave a written complaint about the occurrence.

“Ladies have expressed that while the train was moving towards next station from Sawai Madhopur railway station at 10.30 am on Wednesday, two armed robbers gone into the women compartment. The ladies were advised to hand over whatever they had. From there on, the ladies pulled the chain. Seeing this, the looters bounced off the train,” an officer of GRP, Sawai Madhopur, said.

In their complaint, the ladies have expressed that a total of Rs 22,000 and two cell phones were robbed from them.

“Since the wrongdoing occurred at Sawai Madhopur, a GRP group from that point went to Jaipur and took the protest from the ladies,” the officer included.
