New Delhi: In a shocking development, Rio-bound wrestler Narsingh Yadav's Olympics dream seems to have crashed with reports coming in of him failing the dope tests. But so far there is no official confirmation on this from the Wrestling Federation of India.
The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has found two samples which were taken from Yadav that has tested positive for dope. The Tribune reported that there was no official confirmation about the news. It is being reported that Yadav had appeared before the Nada panel on Friday, pleading his innocence and also claiming that he was being targeted by rivals so that they could build an impasse on his Olympics dream.
NADA sent its reports to the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) after a surprise test on the wrestler revealed positive signs of doping. A second test was also performed which also turned positive. If the doping allegations are confirmed as true, Narsingh Yadav will be disqualified from participating in the Rio Olympics.
