Red Alert issued in Pathankot, investigation continues for armed men


CHANDIGARH: An investigation has been started in Pathankot district by the Security agencies to find out some armed men seen by local residents.

"We carried out search operation around Chakki river bank and nearby forest area. However, nothing has been found so far. The search operation was started on Tuesday and carried on through the night," Pathankot district police chief Rakesh Kaushal said.

On Tuesday, four armed suspicious men were seen by the local residents of the Pathankot district to look after them. The investigation was held in areas of Punjab-Himachal Pradesh-Jammu and Kashmir.

None of the person has arrested yet, police officials said.

After January 2 attack, a search operation is regularly carried out by the security forces.The terrorists attacked on the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot which left seven security personnel dead.

On July 27 last year, Pakistani terrorists attacked on the Dinanagar town of the Gurdaspur district.
