Reality TV actor and Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan held for sending dirty pic to woman

MUMBAI: The Malwani police officials early on Sunday arrested actor Ajaz Khan (34) for allegedly sending an obscene photograph to a woman on a social messaging app. The actor was produced before Borivali court later in the day and was released on cash bail bond of Rs.10,000. After the bail Khan claiming to be innocent, told the media reporters, outside the court, that he was being targeted as he was a celebrity.

Ajaz khan who started his career as a Radio Jockey (RJ), was a contestant on the famous TV reality show Bigg Boss’s season 7. The actor additionally has acted in a few Hindi and Telegu films.

The complainant who is identified as a 38-year-old divorcee from Malwani, runs a boutique, in her complaint has said that she received a friendship request on Facebook from Khan, a month ago. She accepted it and the two started chatting on the social networking site. Later on they exchanged phone numbers and started chatting on the popular social messaging app WhatsApp. The complainant further told the police that she was called up for a meeting by Khan when she told him she needed money for her business.

“When the woman visited Khan, he was in the middle of a shoot and therefore he couldn’t spare time to meet her. Later on when Khan called her again a couple of times for a meeting, she denied to meet him and did not go,” said a police officer. However, the two continued to chat on WhatsApp. The complainant appreciated Khan’s display picture on his WhatsApp profile, and he allegedly sent her a obscene selfie, earlier this month. Amazed by the act she questioned Khan as to why he had sent her an obscene picture and he replied that he was willing to apologize, if she didn’t like it. The woman on November 15 lodged a complaint at the Malwani police station.

The police booked Khan under IPC Section 354 (a) for sexual harassment and under Section 66 (e) of the Information Technology Act and he was arrested by the police on Sunday. After being released on bail Khan told the media reporters outside the court that he is being targeted. He said “I’m an easy target as I am a celeb. People misuse my name so they can make headlines.”
