Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo clinches FIFA best player award for fifth time


Portuguese professional Football Champ Cristiano Ronaldo wins the title of FIFA’s best player award for the fifth-time on Monday.

India defeated Malaysia to win Asia Cup 2017

Ronaldo was honored with this title on Monday at the FIFA Best ceremony that was held at the London Palladium theatre.  Other two football title holders Messi and Neymar secured runner-up awards.

Ronaldo clinched these title in the Champions League, Spanish league,  Spanish Super Cup, European soccer tournaments.

Ronaldo’s instructor Zinedine Zidane was given coach of the year award during the event.

FIFA has moved its award ceremony from its normal January slot to October so athletes are evaluated across a period as per the typical European schedule sooner than the calendar year.

In August, Lieke Martens clinched the player’s award against Denmark at the European Championship while Sarina Wiegman scored the coaching honor.

On the other hand, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud received Puskas Award for best goal.  He kicked the goal on New Year’s Day in Arsenal’s 2-0 triumph against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League.
