South Africa Beatrix mine: Rescue operation in process for 955 trapped labourers
An evacuation operation is in process to evacuate 955 employees from a gold mine in South Africa after a power cut left them ensnared.
On Friday, a representative for the Gold mine’s operating firm stated that power had been reinstated to a lift to save them.
The workers have been caught underground ever since Wednesday.
South Africa based Beatrix mine is situated in Welkom town 290km (180 miles) south-west of Johannesburg. It is possessed by Sibanye-Stillwater mining organization.

The power cut is expected to have been taken place after a hurricane hit an electricity pylon near the site.
