BJP selects candidates for Karnataka Legislative Council Election 2017
NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday declared the names of candidates for the upcoming elections of Karnataka Legislative Council 2017.
The BJP Centre Election Committee took decision about the names of candidates in State Legislative Council Election of Karnataka during a meeting on Wednesday.
Ayanur Manjunath has been chosen as the candidate for South-West Graduates Constituency, whereas Ganesh Karnik for the South-West Teachers Constituency.
Niranjan Murthy has been selected as the candidate from the South Teachers Constituency whereas K.B. Shrinivas has been chosen as the candidate from North-East Graduates Constituency.
Haalanur S. Lepakshi has been chosen as the candidate from South-East Teachers Constituency while A. Devegowda from Bangalore Graduates Constituency.
The meeting took place on Wednesday by Centre Election Committee of Bhartiya Janta Party under the direction of party president Amit Shah at BJP’s headquarters in Ashok Road in Delhi.
“As far as the legislative of Karnataka is concerned, for all the six seats a list has been announced. It will be on the website,” CEC secretary and Union Minister JP Nadda stated.
PM Narendra Modi, Union Home minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as well as other members of Centre Election Committee of the Bhartiya Janta Party attended the meeting on Wednesday.
Australia to pass the law of same-sex marriage in December
MELBOURNE – After a survey the Australian lawmaker legalizing the law of same-sex marriage by early December because majority of Australians favoured for this law.
By December 7 the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will pass the law of same-sex marriage.
The country’s statistics agency reported that 61.6% of the australians are in the favour of the same-sex marriage and 38.4% are against of this law.
If the parliament passes this law then Australia become the 26th country to pass this law as expected.
From the conservative groups the legislation is facing the opposition who have sweared to introduce amendments to protect religious freedom that would allow discrimination against same-sex couples.
“They’ll move amendments and some of them will be accepted. We’re cracking (getting) on with it.” Turnbull told on Thursday.
Senator Dean Smith, a member of the coalition and the country’s first openly gay lawmaker introducing a full debate on the bill which will be scheduled on Nov 27.
In the voluntary public survey almost 80% of the public that are eligible to vote took part.

So when the song shoot came, honestly I just maintained what I had been doing for the film.”
Tiger Zinda Hai is slated to hit the theatres on Dec 22.
Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy, PV Sindhu reaches second round of China Open Superseries Premier
Fuzhou: Indian badminton players PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal won the game on Wednesday by defeating Sayaka Sato of Japan and USA’s Beiwen Zhang in China Open Superseries Premier tournament. This triumph helped them to reach to the women’s singles second round.
Saina Nehwal took only 30 minutes to defeat Zhang 21-12, 21-13 in her tournament. She will now face off fifth seed Akane Yamaguchi in the next round of game.
On the other hand, PV Sindhu showed her great performance against opponent player Sato and defeated her in the 59 minute of game to get a score of 24-22, 23-21. She will now play against Chinese qualifier Yue Han in the next match.
In the men’s singles category, World No 11 HS Prannoy reached to the second round of game but he had to work hard for that.
HS Prannoy had to clash it out for about one-and-a-half hours to defeat Korea’s Dong Keun Lee 18-21, 21-16, 21-19.
Prannoy will face off Hong Kong qualifier Cheuk Yiu Lee in the next match. While, player Sourabh Verma, could not able to win the game and lost against France’s Brice Leverdez 14-21, 21-15, 11-21 in the first round of game.
In the men’s doubles category, duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost the match against Chinese pair Cheng Liu and Nan Zhang by 13-21, 13-21.
In the women’s doubles category, Korean pair of Ha Na Baek and Chae Yoo Jung defeated Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy.
