Koregaon Violence: Dalit Organizations Call Mumbai Bandh Today
Mumbai: Dalit organizations have declared shutdown in Maharashtra on Wednesday to protest against the violence that triggered off against the Dalit society’s Shaurya Divas in Bhima Koregaon, Pune. If reports were to be believed, protesters stopped the train at Thane railway station in Maharashtra recently. In view of Koregaon violence, Section 144 has been imposed in Thane till January 4.
As per the reports, all the train services including local trains will be disrupted. With the closure of Maharashtra, arund 40 thousand buses will not run and Pune Highway will also be closed in the violence. In this regard, BR Ambedkar’s grandson Prakash Ambedkar has called for the Maharashtra shutdown to protest against the government’s failure to stop the violence.
63-year-old Prakash Ambedkar said that more than 250 Dalit organizations support this bandh. Security arrangements have been made in Maharashtra. Section 144 has been imposed in several areas. Prakash Ambedkar has blamed 3 leaders for inciting Monday’s violence. One man was killed in this violence.
Maharashtra’s CM Devendra Fadnavis has said that he will go to Supreme Court for the judicial investigation of Koregaon violence. At the same time, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has tweeted on this issue and accused the BJP and RSS.
Over 100 people were arrested as strikers went on a run riot and cops had to be included in the issue.
Peru: Bus plunges onto rocky beach, 48 dead
Peru: Nearly 48 people lost their lives after a bus plunges onto a rocky beach on Tuesday, Peruvian police and fire authorities affirmed.
There were about 57 people in the bus at the time of accident, reports said.
After the accident, a police helicopter reached to the spot to evacuate people whereas some managed to save their lives with the support of ropes.
The Navy also hurled patrol boat to help the rescuers making attempts to get one and all out ahead of the tide increase.
As per the reports nearly six people were declared to have stayed alive.
The accident occurred on a coastal highway about 45 kilometers north of the capital Lima, Escudero asserted.
The Pasamayo highway on which the accident took place is only utilized by trucks and buses.
It has not been finalized whether the driver had been died or wounded. Over 2,500 people lost their lives in traffic mishaps in Peru two years back, reports said.
Brahmastra Film : Ranbir Kapoor And Alia Bhatt Shares Pic From Israel’s Shoot
Bollywood Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer film ‘Brahmastra’ shooting have been started. Currently, the starcast of film Brahmastra crew is currently in Israel’s Tel Aviv. The photographs of the starcast have gone viral on the social media. It shows Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukherjee posing in front of the camera.

The film is slated to hit the theatres in February 2019. Earlier, the photograph of Alia Bhatt reading the script went viral on social media.
Brahmastra signifies Karan Johar’s fourth association with Ranbir and Ayan’s third with the artist. Prior, Ayan Mukherjee worked along with Ranbir Kapoor in film Wake Up Sid.
Brahmastra film is slated to hit the theatres next year.
Hopman Cup: Roger Federer’s performance helps Switzerland defeat Russia
Tennis Player Roger Federer thrashed away Karen Khachanov in the straight sets whereas Belinda Bencic defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Tuesday as Switzerland beat Russia 3-0 in the Hopman Cup.
Before Australian Open, Federer again got force on his side with a 6-3, 7-6(8) triumph against Khachanov of Russia.
Following an easy first set win, Roger Federer was hard-pressed to the edge ahead of topping the 21-year-old Russian.
Khachanov started the game with a small reserve but the force in his shots meant he will beat Federer soon. But, Roger Federer finished the first set in just 29 minutes.
In the second match, Khachanov showed their better side against Federer but later on 19-time Grand Slam champion efforts helped him to take third match point.
On the other hand, player Bencic defeated world No.15 Pavlyuchenkova by 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
Later, Bencic played with Federer in the mixed doubles to clinch the game.
Prior, US clinched 2-1 victory against Japan following Naomi Osaka was too sick to contribute. Osaka’s bad performance helped CoCo Vandeweghe to get 6-0, 6-0 win in their singles game.
