CBI Court acquits A Raja, Kanimozhi, 15 others in 2G spectrum scam case
The CBI Special Court has acquitted all the accused in the country’s biggest scam 2G spectrum case. The CBI court said in its decision that the government lawyer could not able to prove the charges. Judge OP Saini said that the lawyer failed to prove that money has been levied between the two parties. Before the court decision, there was a huge crowd in the premises.
The court has acquitted 25 accused including former Telecom Minister A Raja and DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi. The 2G scam was of Rs. 1, 76, 000 crores.
In fact, the court has heard 3 cases, of which two are CBI and one Enforcement Directorate (ED). In the first CBI case, in addition to former Union Minister A. Raja, DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, Former Telecom Secretary Siddhartha Behura, A Raja’s then private secretary RK Chandolia, promoter of Swan Telecom Shahid Usman Balwa, Vinod Goenka, Unitech Company’s MD Sanjay Chandra, Kushgaon Fruits and Vegetable Pvt Ltd’s Asif Balwa and Rajiv Agarwal, Director of Kalai Nagar TV Sharad Kumar and Kareem of Cineyug Films Apart from Morani, senior officials of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, Gautam Joshi, Surendra Pipara, Hari Nayar R P.
Apart from this, three companies Swan Telecom Limited, Reliance Telecom Limited and Unitech Wireless (Tamilnadu) have been charged in this matter.
Mexico: Bus carrying foreign tourists crashes in Quintana Roo, 12 dead
At Least twelve people lost their lives and 18 others were wounded on Tuesday in Mexico’s Quintana Roo in a bus crash. The driver of bus lost control at the time of incident and rolled over during a tour.
There were about 31 travelers, involving people of the United States, Brazil and Sweden. Quintana Roo and Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula are very famous tourist spots.
As per spokeswoman Cynthia Martinez, 27 commuters had been roving on Royal Caribbean cruise ships. “Our empathy go out to all those indulged in the bus accident,” Martinez affirmed. She added “We are doing all we can to care for our guests, involving helping with medical care and transportation.”
The travelers were going to the archaeological zone of Chacchoben when the incident occurred on Tuesday. Following the mishap, the victims were rushed to hospitals, Bus Company Costa Maya stated. 5 victims have been released and the wounded were in better condition, it added.
Quintana Roo’s government affirmed that it was probing the reason of the mishap. The U.S. embassy in Mexico stated it was functioning with officials to check if U.S. natives were on board the bus.
In year 2016, around eleven tourists were died in accident in Quintana Roo when their bus overturned on the way to Cancun.
Dhadak : Jhanvi Kapoor – Ishaan Khattar completes Rajasthan shooting schedule
Sridevi daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid’s brother Ishaant Khatter are all set to make their debut in Bollywood with film Dhadak. The film will be directed by Shashank Khaitan.
The lead actors of film have finished the first leg of shooting for their movie Dhadak. The photographs from the set of film have gone viral on the social media. On Twitter, Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the photographs and posted, “And the first shooting schedule of #Dhadak concludes in Rajasthan… Stars Janhvi and Ishaan… An adaptation of Marathi blockbuster #Sairat… Directed by Shashank Khaitan… 6 July 2018 release. #धड़क”
Janhvi Kapoor also posted the photograph from the sets of Dhadak on social media.
‘Dhadak’ is Bollywood remake of Marathi film ‘Sairat’ directed by Nagraj Manjule.
The makers of movie released the poster of film on November 15 that was liked by audience a lot. Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan was last featured in Majid Majidi’s movie ‘Beyond The Clouds.’
The movie is a co-production between Zee Studios and Dharma Productions and is slated to hit the theatres on July 6 next year.
India thrashes Sri Lanka by 93 runs in 1st Twenty Twenty
Cuttack (Odisha): India beat Sri Lanka by 93 runs in Cuttack on Wednesday in three-match T20 International series. This helped the team to take lead by 1-0 in the game.
Sri Lankan team lost the game at a score of 87 runs on Wednesday. Indian bowler Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets which helped the team to win the match.
Prior, Sri Lanka had clinched the toss and directed India to bat first.
The partnership between MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey took India to adequate total of 180 for 3 wickets at the Barabati Stadium.
Batsman Rohit Sharma contributed only 17 runs whereas KL Rahul gave 61 runs to the Indian team to take a lead against the opponent team.
When KL Rahul lost the match, it seemed that India would not be able to make more than 150 score but Dhoni and Pandey’s remarkable performance contributed 61 runs in the last four overs to give Sri Lanka a perfect total.
Dhoni clinched unbeaten 39 runs whereas Pandey scored 32 at the vital time.
Chahal was given the title of Man of the Match.
