Cold wave affects north India, temperature falls to 8 degrees in Delhi
The mercury levels in north India has dropped down by 8 degrees that led to the increase in cold weather. Nearly 19 trains were delayed, 2 deferred and 8 revoked because of low visibility in Delhi.
As the temperature of capital dropped by 8 Celsius, Delhi witnessed heavy fog on Sunday morning.
Prior this week, people at Kedarnath shrine faced heavy snowfall. The temperature falls down to minus five degrees Celsius in the area.
The specific authorities have been deployed at Sonprayag, Linchauli to clear the snow. Intense rains and snowfall were also hitting several areas of Himachal Pradesh. The heavy snowfall resulted in disturbance of road traffic in Kufri, Narkanda and Kharapathar. The people also witnessed lack of electricity supply in various areas.
The cold Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and North Rajasthan have been increased. The lowest temperatures in the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region recorded below freezing point on Saturday.
The temperature in Srinagar was noted -4 degrees Celsius with storm blowing at 5km/hr.
The higher elevation areas of Jammu had witnessed intense snowfall amid December 11 and December 14 whereas Jammu was hit by nonstop rains. As per MeT, heavy rainfall has dropped the temperature of city. On the other hand, the temperature of Churu district in Rajasthan was noted 4 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
Two couples wedded in Australia’s first same-sex weddings
The first gay marriage of two female couple has taken place in Australia on Saturday under new legislation.
The due tied knot in Sydney and Melbourne on Saturday after being given consent to give up the notice period.
Lauren Price and Amy Laker took promises in Sydney as their families had come from Wales to take part in the wedding.
Amy and Elise McDonald also were given freedom to tie knot in Melbourne as their relatives had also come in from overseas.
There was presume to be a 30-day waiting period following couples listed to tie knot with the initial marriage predictable on January 9.

Varun Dhawan not part of Abhishek Varman’s Shiddat
Filmmaker Abhishek Varman is all set to make a new film titled Shiddat. Since few days, the reports are doing round that Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi might play role in the movie.
Now, the latest buzz associated with film revealed that Alia and Varun will not lead role in the movie. Varun-Alia refused the reports stating that they have no thought about film. “Which movie? Who told you that? We don’t know any such film exists,” Varun wrote.
Alia Bhatt wrote, “Who told you that? I don’t know about such movie.”
The latest reports revealed that Varun and Aditya will play lead role of brothers while Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi will be essaying the role of their parents. The movie is shot in the backdrop of India-Pakistan partition period. The movie is directed by Gulab Gullati and Abhishek Varman.
On the other hand, Varun Dhawan will be seen in film October that will be directed by Shoojit Sircar. The actor has finished the shooting of film recently. Apart from it, he will be featured in Sui Dhaaga that will be made under Yash Raj Films banner. Alia Bhatt will be seen in film Raazi, Gully Boy, Brahmastra.
Karnataka Favourites to face off Vidarbha In Ranji Trophy Semi-Final
Karnataka team will play against Vidarbha in the semifinals of Ranji Trophy tournament that will be held at the Eden Gardens today.
Beginning their season with three consecutive triumphs, Karnataka defeated Delhi to end top of Group A.
Batsman Mayank Agarwal showed great performance in the game and clinched 1,142 runs while R Samarth clinched 643 runs in the tournament.
Jointly, they are already the third most productive opening duo after Wasim Jaffer and Ajinkya Rahane of Mumbai, Priyank Panchal and Samit Gohel of Gujarat team.
On the other hand, bowler K Gowtham took 34 wickets in seven games while Shreyas Gopal presented great performance in the conclusion of tournament.
Bowler Vinay Kumar took hattrick against Mumbai that gave him self-assurance in reaching to the semifinal.
“We are a good bowling side. The wicket looks green. They will cut the grass before the game. Normally Kolkata wicket is helpful for the fast bowlers. I always enjoy bowling here,” Vinay Kumar stated.

Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ to be launched in February 2018
South Korean smartphone maker company Samsung is ready to unveil Galaxy S9 and S9+ next year in the month of February. As per the reports, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be launched on February 27 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Smartphone Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will involve 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch display, edge-to-edge Super AMOLED “Infinity Display”. Galaxy S9 will involve fingerprint sensor and dual-camera system.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset and include optically-stabilized dual-camera setup. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
Samsung Galaxy S9+ involves 6GB of RAM and 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC or Exynos 9810.
