Case lodged against Kamal Haasan in Varanasi for terror remark
CHENNAI: Actor Kamal Haasan gave a remark recently against the right wing Hindus in his column in a Tamil magazine on Thursday that they have changed from taking part in debates and involved in terrorism to broadcast their plan. On his statement, a complaint was filed against him in Varanasi on Friday.
The case has been lodged against Kamal Haasan under Sections 500 (punishment for defamation), 511, 298 (hurting religious sentiment), 295-A (intend to outrage religious feelings), and 505-C (attempt to incite hatred enmity between classes) of the IPC. The issue will be announced on Saturday.
After his statement, Hindutva forces and BJP leaders including Vinay Katiyar mentioned Kamal’s mental situation as “unbalanced”. On the other hand, H Raja described him as a “follower of terrorists”.
“From his known stand of being an anti-Hindu, Kamal Haasan has now promoted himself as a supporter of terrorists. Nationalists’ beware. During Viswaroopam crisis, certain Muslim outfits had commented that the (actor’s) fear will not go away for another 20 years and it looks to be true. Attack on Hindus shameful,” Raja wrote on Twitter.
“Lynching, abusing, killing, threatening, harassing in the name of religion is a terror. Any religion… We see this now. N this needs to be stopped,” Congress spokesperson Khushbu tweeted.

Sushant-Sara Ali Khan’s Kedarnath to release in 2018 end
Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput and Saif-Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan starrer film ‘kedarnath’ release date has been postponed to the end of year 2018. The movie is directed by Abhishek Kapoor. This is the first debut film of Sara Ali Khan.
As per the reports, the movie’s shooting haven’t been completed yet. The filmmaker has now taken decision to form a set in Mumbai for the shooting.
Source stated, “The makers felt that the sequence deserves a grander canvas. So, they have decided to recreate the town of Kedarnath in Mumbai. The set will be erected by February next year. Abhishek intends to wrap up the sequence by June. This has, in turn, pushed the release.”
The reports stated that the director have chosen VFX team from Los Angeles to successfully display the natural disaster in film. “Gallons of water will be used to create the flood effect. The sequence will be high on VFX,” it added.
Producer Prernaa Arora shared, “It’s going to be a challenging shoot. I completely believe in Gattu’s (Kapoor) vision.”
Kedarnath film revolves around Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput. It is a love based film that is shot at Kedarnath and focuses on the natural calamity that occurred in Uttarakhand in year 2013.
On the other hand, Sushant Singh Rajput will be seen in film Drive that will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The film features Jacqueline Fernandez opposite him.
