RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan not an Indian by heart, says Subramanian to PM Modi

New Delhi. BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has written to the PM Narendra Modi demanding the immediate removal of RBI governor Raghuram Rajan from his office, alleging the Rajan for ‘mentally not fully Indian” and has willfully derelict the Indian economy.

He said, the reason behind my recommendation is Mr. Raghuram Rajan has deliberately wrecked the Indian economy and his concept of hiking interest rates to contain inflations was disastrous.

Subramanyam Swamy has questioned the functioning of Central Bank Governor said that his policies are not in the nation’s interest and apparently country is suffering. He said, “Raised interest rates has resulted in the collapse of industry and rise of unemployment in the country. So he should be sent back to Chicago as soon as possible.”

Also bad loans with public sector banks have doubled to Rs 3.5 lakh crore in last two years.

Mr. Rajan was chosen as RBI Governor by the previous UPA government in September 2013 for a term of three years, which can be extended.

Mr. Swamy said to Mr. Modi in the letter, “I cannot understand why someone appointed by the UPA government who is actually working against Indian economic interests is to be kept in RBI Governor Post while we have so many nationalist minded experts available in this country for the post.”

He further blamed Mr. Rajan, Mr. Swamy said, was “He is acting more as a disrupter of the Indian economy than the person who wants the Indian economy to improve”.
