Ranji Trophy: Cheteshwar Pujara falls short of Double century against Gujarat

Indian player Cheteshwar Pujara presented his splendid performance before the Test series against Sri Lanka in the Ranji Trophy match on Friday. On the second day of the Ranji Trophy, he scored 182 runs on Friday against Gujarat. In the first match, Cheteshwar Pujara clinched a brilliant 204 runs against Jharkhand but this time he couldn’t able to make it to double hundred.

In the first game, 204 runs of Cheteshwar Pujara against Jharkhand helped him to reach to the top spot of highest double hundreds (12). Some of the renowned players including Vijay Merchant (11), Late Vijay Hazare (11 double tons), Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid (10 each) are at the back now.

Beginning the day at 115 not out, Pujara clinched 69 runs for the fifth wicket.

Pujara clinched 182 from 313 balls that included 24 boundaries and later the bowler Siddharth Desai bowled him.

Player Prerak showcased great performance by hitting seven fours, one six in 77 balls.  Chirag Jani’s victorious 46 runs took Saurashtra above 550 score.

On the other hand, Gujarat team faced no failure till 45 score.

In the initial two tests at Galle and Colombo, Pujara presented unbelievable performance against Sri Lanka with scores of 153 and 133.
